Guildford Grammar School Saturday 13th July
The next Orienteering event is a NavDash at Guildford Grammar School on Saturday, 13th July. The event will be held within the grounds of Guildford Grammar in a small, compact area with complex features, such as the buildings and passages, with plenty of playing fields and is also very suitable for beginners.
Courses: Short and Long (2 to 3.5km's)

The final sprint event for the this year is the WA Sprint Championships on August 10 and entries close for this event on Monday 5 August 2013. To be part of the Championship competition you'll need to pre-enter so come along and enjoy.

Christmas Tree Creek, Jane Brook, Saturday 27th July 2013
A different type of venue for NavDash this week – complex rocks instead of complex buildings! The venue is a former paddock on the western edge of John Forrest National Park, very open with patches of regrowth forest, and lots of rocks of various sizes and formations. The Be Active Metro Series is held in and around metropolitan parks and reserves throughout the suburbs of Perth. Events are held most Saturday evenings between November and February, when it is too hot for running in the bush by day. Various courses are available, ranging from 3-8 km in length.

The next Orienteering event is a NavDash at the Wildflower Tavern, John Forrest NP on Saturday, 13th April. This event will suit both sprint and bush orienteering aficionados alike, and is also very suitable for beginners.

West Australians did well at the annual Australian 3 Days Orienteering Championships around Bendigo, Victoria, with Oliver Martin winning the Men 14A class, and Natasha Sparg 1st in Women Open B at her first national orienteering carnival. In the very competitive elite classes, Kellie Whitfield finished a very creditable 13th overall in Women 21E, including top 10 placings in two of the four races over the Easter Weekend. WA's best M21E was Craig Dufty in 23rd place.

There will be a break from Orienteering in Western Australia over Easter, while the annual Australian 3 Days Orienteering Championships take place in Bendigo, Victoria, with a large contingent from WA participating.
The Championships are the Australian team selection trials for the Junior World Orienteering Championships, to be held in the Czech Republic in late June, and we wish brothers Oscar and Henry McNulty from West Leederville every success.

Avon Valley National Park, Sunday 24th March
The next Orienteering event is Sunday 24th March at Avon Valley National Park, with early registration and start times. Registration will be open from 8.00am to 9.30am, with the start times from 8.15am to 10.00am; make sure you arrive before 9.30am in time to register.

After the summer break from bush events the start of the 2013 Orienteering bush season will be at Yetar Spring, near Mundaring, on Sunday 17th March.
For the return to bush orienteering, the Yetar Spring event will have early registration times (8.00am to 9.30am) and start times from 8.15am to 10.00am.
