The next Orienteering event is a NavDash at Shenton College, Shenton Park on Saturday, 15th June. The event will be held within the grounds of Shenton College in a small, compact area with complex features, such as the buildings and passages, and is also very suitable for beginners.
No previous orienteering experience is necessary, and members of the public are welcome at this event. There will be a briefing for beginners at approximately 1.30pm. More information for

Mt Lawley Campus , Saturday 29th June 2013
Half-way through the year, half-way through the Orienteering Calendar, and event 7 of 10 NavDashes for 2013! The ECU Mt Lawley NavDash will follow the usual format, with two sprint orienteering courses around a complex set of buildings and grassed areas encompassing both the University campus and Mt Lawley secondary and (temporary) primary schools.

This MTB Orienteering event covers the complex track network around Pickering Brook, Courses range for those suitable for experienced orienteers and first time participants. The shorter courses are easily achievable by beginners, non-mountain bikers and families.

First SOL event for the series was the NavDash event at Churchlands. Results in the 2013 SOL standings are now available.
The State Orienteering League (SOL) takes place over the over 6 winter season Orienteering events. The 6 events make up the series where, if you run the nominated course for your age group, you will be able to track how your performance is going and obtain points for the Orienteer of the Year award.

Just down the road from Pre-Fazzle visit a favourite WA map, Hill Park Dale. Another farm map with lots of rock classic long distance courses will be on offer Sunday morning.

Middle Distance Event
On the 1:5,000 Pre-Frazzle Map first used for the Easter Prologue events in 2011. With fast open rock strewn farm land the area is ideal for middle distance style courses. Expect lots of controls and many twists and turns to keep you concentrating.

This MTB Orienteering event covers the complex track network around Langford Park and Manjedal scout camp and for the longer courses, includes a newly mapped area east of Nettleton Rd, 'Alcoa Hilltop', where you can relive the history of aluminium mining in WA's south west. The area includes mining access trails, dirt bike tracks and regrowth plantation forest. Come and try out the courses designed by WA's national MTBO representative, Ricky Thackray.

Orienteering this week is on Sunday morning (5th May) at one of the many beautiful Wandoo forests close to Perth in the Mundaring catchment. These forests are generally open, with mature trees, and provide some of the best orienteering terrain in Western Australia.

April 27th & 28th saw two West Australians travel to Victoria for a weekend of Mountain Bike Orienteering. The Victorian Sprint, Middle and Long MTBO Distance championships were all held on the weekend as part of the Mountain Bike National Orienteering league and doubled as the national selection races for the Australian MTBO team for the 2013 MTBO World Championships.

The NavDash Sprint Orienteering event, on a new map at Churchlands, is the first State Orienteering League (SOL) race for 2013.
