Umuna (long distance) will offer you a picturesque ridge of grazed remnant bush with views across the adjacent wheatbelt. Plus wallabies and echidnas (if you’re lucky!). They’ll be lots of granite but mostly open terrain. With seven different courses to choose from, ranging from easy to hard, you’ll be spoilt for choice and challenges.

The standard bush event at Spice Brook is worth the drive through the beautiful lush countryside this weekend. You’ll be met with a variety of courses to choose from. The WA Sprint Champs will offer a labyrinth mixture of buildings, parkland, underpasses and pathways; a great deal of complexity and route choice!
Pre-entry is open via Eventor. To be eligible for the Sprint Championship you must pre-enter. Benefits include pre-allocated start time, a map printed on waterproof paper and avoiding a long queue at the caravan! You’ll also be eligible for awards and trophies.
Entries close Monday 17th August 2015 at mid-night.

This popular orienteering area should be just the place to enjoy the start of the wildflower season at a standard bush event. With a range of courses to choose from to suit all skill and fitness levels this is a perfect time to get out and enjoy the Western Australian bush. After your course let the kids play and get dirty, have a picnic lunch and enjoy a snack from the cake stall which supports the Junior Squad fundraising effort.

WA Sprint Championships
Curtin University, Saturday August 22nd.
Courses are typical of those set on uni campuses - lots of buildings, twists and turns, plenty of complexity and route choice to keep runners on their toes. Come along and see if you can snare a State Championship title and all of the associated bragging rights for the rest of the year.

Come and enjoy Navdashing in the bush this coming Saturday afternoon in the beautiful John Forrest National Park. Enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife of Perth’s first National Park conveniently located in the Darling scarp, 24 km east of Perth.
The NavDash is very suitable for beginners, as the events are relatively short in distance and navigation is relatively easy at a slow jog or walking pace, but can be tricky when running at full speed. Lots of fun for beginners

Courses to suit everyone, from very easy courses along tracks, fences and watercourses for beginners to hard cross country navigation for the more experienced - so anyone can come along and give it a go!
Moderate and hard courses extend north and northwest from the assembly area into better running and less steep parts of the Marginata map. Caution should be exercised when using vegetation detail for navigation as conditions have changed since mapping was completed.

WA's top junior Henry McNulty is representing Australia at the Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) in Norway over the next week. Follow Henry and the rest of the Australian JWOC team live at the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) Livesenter.

Join us this weekend for a great middle distance event. There are seven different courses to choose from. All are on mostly fast grazed farmland with rock detail but little undergrowth. Hard courses are in a technically challenging area with significant slopes on the longer ones.
