Find your first control of 2021 by starting the year off with a pleasant ramble along the Canning River in Shelley! This map includes the river foreshore and the suburban streets of Shelley and is suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The assembly area is in the parkland near to the intersection of Riverton Drive and Corbel Street, Shelley, with verge parking available.

Come enjoy a stroll through the suburbs for our last event of 2020!
Ths map includes an extension of the previous Kingsley map and most of the area is quiet suburban backstreets, almost entirely suitable for prams. There is a small playground that includes tricycle trailer tracks. Dogs must be on leads in the park. There is only one toilet so arrive early to avoid a queue.

The Cottesloe Metro event commences from the Main Lawn at the Civic Centre and has a standard Metro component and a small Sprint mini-map component within the Civic Centre like the last event in 2017. This event continues the trend for MetrO this season of being largely in native bushland; in fact the Short and Medium courses can be completed without venturing into the suburbs at all. Our first NavDash event of the season begins at Canning Vale College.
Members are invited to come and enjoy some short distance naviagation south of the river wandering the ins and outs and arounds of the school campus. While there will be a normal course of zigzagging around the buildings searching for controls in numerical order, our organiser Graham has some additional fun planned for us.

The Kent St Weir map comprises of a large, flat parkland area of Canning River Regional Park as well as the surrounding suburbia of Ferndale. It is a great area that hasn't been used for a while. The map has had significant updates done in preparation for this event from the hardworking duo of Hadrien and Ellie, so please come and enjoy the event they have prepared for you. The first event for 2020 will take place at the John Dunn Memorial Park in Camillo, not far from the Champion Lakes rowing centre SE of Perth and easily accessible from Tonkin and Albany Highways. This week's MetrO event moves to Rockingham for a trip to the beach. The map features a mix of sand, complex streets, canals, parks and several lakes so there is a wide variety of terrain to explore. The first mountain bike orienteering event of the season will be an urban event based around the Canning and Southern Rivers, taking in sealed paths, parkland and some bush tracks.
