Come and enjoy Navdashing in the bush this coming Saturday afternoon in the beautiful John Forrest National Park. Enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife of Perth’s first National Park conveniently located in the Darling scarp, 24 km east of Perth.

The NavDash is very suitable for beginners, as the events are relatively short in distance and navigation is relatively easy at a slow jog or walking pace, but can be tricky when running at full speed. Lots of fun for beginners...

Courses to suit everyone, from very easy courses along tracks, fences and watercourses  for beginners to hard cross country navigation for the more experienced - so anyone can come along and give it a go!

Moderate and hard courses extend north and northwest from the assembly area into better running and less steep parts of the Marginata map. Caution should be exercised when using vegetation detail for navigation as conditions have changed since mapping was completed.

WA's top junior Henry McNulty is representing Australia at the Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) in Norway over the next week. Follow Henry and the rest of the Australian JWOC team live at the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) Livesenter.

Sunday 19 July, Peterdine – West of Northam

Join us this weekend for a great middle distance event. There are seven different courses to choose from. All are on mostly fast grazed farmland with rock detail but little undergrowth. Hard courses are in a technically challenging area with significant slopes on the longer ones.

This week's bush event is located between the Lakes Road House and the historic town of York. The flora and fauna, breathtaking views and magnificent trees await you, as well as seven courses to choose from. Ranging from very easy to hard, there is a course to suit everyone. If you haven't tried bush orienteering yet, this location is well worth a visit.

Sprint Orienteering is on offer in Albany this weekend. Fun, short and sharp. Meet, start and finish at the Visitor’s CentreYou can choose between two similar courses of 2km, or why not do them both.

Sunday 6 July 2014 - starts 9.30-1.00pm.
No better place to run than the beautiful bushland in Jarrahdale State Forest.
There will be many courses of varing length and navigational difficulty so there is a course suitable for everyone.  Experienced orienteers, noticeable in their fluoro orange vests, will be on hand to help newcomers and those a bit rusty with their navigational skills.
Bring a picnic lunch and catch up with some old or new friends after the event.

July 11-12th

Pre-entries for the state Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships have now closed but don't let that stop you if you have not yet entered! On-the-day entries will be accepted on any course and there are four to choose from on both days. Saturday afternoon is the middle distance champs (5-17km) and Sunday morning is the long distance champs (16-35km). Choose your distance, choose your level of fun; ride on your own or with friends!

4 - 6 July 2015, Lake Leschenaultia

The OAWA Junior Orienteering camp is on again this year, for two full days of fun during the school holidays. If you enjoy orienteering, want to learn more about it and have a fun time with other young people then this camp is for you. The camp is open to anyone aged from 10 to 17 years who has participated in at least one bush event or Navdash event, in addition to any school events, and is an OAWA full or casual member.

Saturday 24 August – Frazzle Rock, West of Brookton

Join us this weekend when we return to Frazzle Rock, a great area that is well worth the 2 hr drive. There will be a choice of courses to suit all abilities, with instructors available to help newcomers. To earn SOL points you must enter the correct course for your age and gender - these will be displayed on the caravan at the event.
