Event Report: MTBO 2 Banyowla

Banyowla Regional Park

Saturday was a hilly day filled with sunshine, pea gravel, honkey nuts, dirt bike trails and controls placed in bush, urban and open areas. There was a huge variety of entrants with many people riding the less hilly short course. The Medium course could have been shorter to account for the hills, while the Long course had lots of hills and difficult route choice decisions to make. Well done to everyone who ventured out on this map!

We saw lots of new faces, there were many groups plus families riding with kids (note the great towing system on one of the bikes - see photo) and several of our intrepid MTBOers. It was great to see so many people out for an adventure on a Saturday afternoon.

Debbie McKay received her MTBO of the year mug, finally engraved with both 2017 and 2018 on it and we shall see if she can win it again this year.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen: Ellie Sansom for admin and advertising pre-event; James O'Loughlin for computer registration; Adam Binks for towing the toilet; bakers Sue Dowling, Lois West and Debbie McKay; control collectors Jack and Sue Dowling, Phil and Duncan; Ben Coetzer, Graeme Harris, Ricky Thackray and Hadrien Devillepoix; and Natasha Sparg for setting the event and also bringing and cooking the sausages.
