Congratulations to our 2026 MTBO Long Distance Champions Tash Thackray and Ricky Thackray! Tash also won the setter’s heart by returning from her course with a big smile on her face and proclaiming “Thank you – that was so much fun”!
Carinyah did its best to make shorter than optimum courses challenging enough to test everyone’s riding and navigation skills on a cool, dry morning. The usual complement of trail bike riders provided little hassle and no bodies or equipment were broken on the day. Pre-entries featured the usual MTBO suspects and we were joined by two family groups who seemed to enjoy the experience
As always, there were many contributors to the event. Jack Dowling as setter, Sue Dowling as organiser, Rosalie McCauley on computing, Rob Beattie with toilet towing and Duncan Sullivan with mapping assistance got the event underway. Control collection happened quickly due to the efforts of Volker Gartz, Michael Dufty, Martin Cupak, Brian Austin, Rob West, Rob Beattie and Debbie MacKay (who doubled up with a little search and rescue effort to locate one family group). Thanks to all of you.
