The latest in the series of NavRun events was held at Swan Regional Park on the eastern edge of Perth on the weekend in great weather conditions. We had use of the sports complex for registrations although this wasn't really necessary given the conditions, but it was a welcome change to have it indoors and people were able to gather here afterward.
The area consisted of open parkland, a bush area with flowing creeks and a bunch of car wrecks plus the nearby TAFE campus for that sprint experience. Participants had to tackle all terrain types and adjust accordingly, though navigation was of a moderate standard this didn't detract from the challenge.
The promise of wet feet had some dipping their toes in the creek though I did find a dry crossing point for easy and short course participants out of the start. There was a family with four young kids heading out with a pram, but the pram was quickly abandoned in favour of carrying the kids after attempting the first creek crossing!
