The eighth MetrO series event of the season took place in Piney Lakes Reserve and the wider suburb of Winthrop. Temperatures climbed above 35 degrees during the day, and it hadn’t yet perceptibly cooled down at the time of the event.

While Piney Lakes bushland provided some shade, the hilly suburban streets were especially hot. Many competitors struggled to keep running but thankfully all made it back to the start/finish area.

Congratulations to the winners in all categories. The fastest male and female competitors were Yumito and Rosalie on the short course, Ricky and Liisa on the medium course, and Joseph and Veronika on the long course. Thanks to all the helpers on the day including Melinda, Rosalie, Jack and Sue for help with setting up, Kate for handling registrations and result downloads, and Paul, Volker, Oliver, Ruben, Ceri and Rohan for collecting controls.

Results are in Eventor, and more detailed analysis cane be found on the MetrO Series Splits page.
Upload your track to Livelox and compare your route choices with those of you fellow orienteers.
