Constant wind and overcast skies didn’t put off orienteers at this year’s NavDash Relays, held at John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle. The campus is compact with plenty of stairs, undercover areas and some open spaces, which means orienteers really have to pay attention to where they are.

There were 62 entries and 28 teams. Lachlan Braid and Joseph Coleman of KO took home 1st place in the Hard Open category. LOST’s Anthea Feaver and Duncan Sullivan were 1st in the Hard Masters, and WOW’s David Messenger and Jonathan Drury won the Mixed category. KO won overall, taking home the Rutty Rock for the second year in a row.

Many thanks to Setter Vanessa Smith, Controller Volker Gartz, Organiser Heike Behrbohm, and Mapper Noel Schoknecht who put in extra work to update the map. 2025 sprint8 report 2Thanks also to Rob Graieg, Ceri Pass, Jen Porter, Susan and Matt Coleman, Kate Braid, Joseph Coleman, Rohan Braid and Ruben Claessens for either helping on the day, control collecting or packing up at the end of the event. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone.
