Flynn Road, Gorrie
A good number of people took their chances with the threat of rain and were rewarded. The rain held off and competitors were able to enjoy their courses and the relatively benign terrain before returning to picnic with club members.
Mike Howe and Chas Lane set courses with the right amount of challenge for most competitors to thoroughly enjoy. Unfortunately, those on the Moderate course had their experience spoilt by some idiot who threw away one of their controls which meant varying amounts of time was lost as they searched the area trying to decide whether they had made a navigational error or that the control was, in fact, missing.
As with all events, the success of the day was due not only to the work of Mike and Chas but also the group of LOST volunteers who supported them: toilet tower, John Taylor; caravan tower, Ian Fletcher, and the group who set up the assembly area, put out signs, instructed, collected controls and packed up after the event. They were Nick Dale, Jennifer Binns, Tony Simpkins, Anthea Feaver, Rosemary Kullman, Helen Bailey, Isaac Madden, Sandra Tarr, John Taylor, Moreen Cox, and Ian and Jan Fletcher.
