Canning Vale Oval, The Ramble, Canning Vale

Over 70 competitors participated in the 3rd MetrO event of the season, winding through the green streets and parkland of Canning Vale. Unfortunately some competitors had the extra challenge of finding a control which had been buried by local jokers in the playground sandpit as well as another control where the SI unit was not working. Despite these issues, feedback from people was generally positive and review of routes on Livelox shows the variety of routes chosen to complete courses.

Male and female winners on the short course were Ken Brownlie and Ann Marie Frank, Sam Taylor was 1st male on the medium, with Elouise Rose taking out the female category. On the long course, Sten Claessens was the winner of the men’s category and Rachel West made it 3 wins from 3 events for the long course women’s category.

A big thank you to first time setter Rohan Braid for setting and event commentary, helped by Ceri Pass.  Other thanks must go to Alanna for organising permissions, Melinda for registration and her calm demeanour when sorting out mispunches due to the non-functioning SI units, Tony and Jennifer for helping with pack up and our control collectors Veronika, Jenny, John, Dave, Wendy, Sten, Ruben, Kate, Tim, Joseph, Matt and Susan.

Full results can be found on Eventor and some competitor's route choices can be seen on Livelox.
