The MetrO series returns this Saturday to an area that has not been used in the series for over a decade: beautiful Manning Park just south of Fremantle. The event will be held on an excellent, recently updated, 1:7500 map of Manning Park. All courses will be completely within the park, which contains lawn areas around Manning Lake as well as a large bushland reserve. The intricate trail network in the reserve will provide interesting route choice as well as some navigational challenges. The bushland reserve is hilly, but on the short course almost all climb can be avoided. Those who do climb the hills will be rewarded with great views over the lake and the ocean.
The start and finish area is at the amphitheatre along Azelia Rd, 300 m south of Azelia Ley Homestead Museum. There is a large, shaded playground 200 m to the north. Registration opens at 4.15 pm, the mass start is at 5.00 pm, and courses close at 6.15 pm.
METRO SERIES SEASON TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! These can be purchased by members and non members for the price of $100 adult or $50 concession. These can be purchased through Eventor here SEASON TICKETS or you can purchase tickets at events. A SEASON TICKET CARD will be given to you to show at registration at each event you attend. These are great value especially for non members.
All events in the series will be using SI TIMING so bring your SI card if you have one. Don't worry if you don't have your own as you will be given one at registration to use for the event. Registration is from 4:15pm, Newcomer briefing at 4:45pm and the Mass start is at 5pm.
