It is not an April Fool joke! The weekend of April 1st & 2nd will see SWOT hosting a double header event in Bunbury. Come enjoy Autumn Orienteering in Bunbury.
The weekend kicks offs with courses in the Maidens Park and the southern edge of the city. The Maidens is a triangular section of sand dunes and bush to the south of Bunbury. The area is one of WA’s only sand dune areas and is a long-time favourite for orienteers. There is a strong trail network through the park as well as some fine views of the ocean from the tops of the dunes.
On Sunday morning the weekend continues with a NavDash at Bunbury Catholic College. This is a new area recently mapped by Noel Schoknecht and is a classically complex school campus, which will provide many route choices.
Event information in Eventor:
Saturday Afternoon 1st April: Standard Event at Maidens
Sunday Morning 2nd April: Sprint Event at Bunbury Catholic College
The events are being set by the experienced SWOT Team and following each event there will be opportunities to socialise at cake stalls and sausage sizzles the proceeds of which will help fund our Junior team as it heads east later in the year. Make a weekend of it and visit some of the local attractions after or before the events.
