With one event to go in the 2014/15 Metro Series, several overall categories are still undecided (see below). Overall Series scores are based on age classes and your best 6 scores from 12 events, provided you run the correct course for your class. For details of the Age Class Categories in the Series, refer to the Rules.
Open Men (Long Course) - Sten Claessens will be the overall winner. Cameron Duncan and Harry Nicholson are currently 2nd and 3rd, however they will swap places if Harry finishes two places above Cameron at Churchlands, and in 4th place or higher.
Open Women (Long Course) - Nicki Rehn is the overall winner, with Natasha Sparg currently 2nd. But if Polly Weston enters, she just has to finish the course to overtake Tash.
Junior Men (Medium Course) - 1st Oliver Martin, 2nd Kane More (confirmed – but see Sub-Junior Men, below).
Junior Women (Medium Course) - currently Lily McFarlane is the only girl to complete 6 events, but Jo Anna Maynard could overtake Lily if she finishes the Medium course at Churchlands.
Veteran Men (Medium Course) - Andrew Martin, Ron Marcus or Nick Dale could win but Andrew is in the box seat, as Ron or Nick must win at Churchlands to pass him. If Nick gets the 100pts at Churchlands he will retain his title regardless of where the others finish. If Ron wins at Churchlands, he has to hope that Andrew does not finish 2nd. Andrew will be hoping that his son Oliver can take the 100pts for the 3rd race in a row.
Veteran Women (Medium Course) - Joanne McGill is the overall winner, with Carol Brownlie 2nd and Christine Howitt 3rd. There is a remote chance that Chris could pass Carol, but she would need to finish 6th or higher (95pts+).
Novice Junior (Short Course) - Ruben Claessens is the only junior who has completed 6 events, but could be overtaken if Sasha Eves turns up and finishes at Churchlands..
Sub-Junior Men (Short course) - Shaun Richards is eading but could be overtaken by Kane More. Kane will have to decide which category he wants as he cannot take a place in two categories (see Junior Men, above). Mason Eves will finish 2nd or 3rd depending on Kane’s decision.
Sub-Junior Women (Short Course) - a similar situation to the Boys, with Sarah Richards currently leading, but Michaela Maynard only has to finish to take the victory. Holly Dunne will be 2nd or 3rd.
:Super-Veteran Men (Short Course) - Bryan Hardy is leading and can only be beaten if Tony Simpkins finishes 1st at Churchlands, or 2nd provided Bryan is not the winner.
Super-Veteran Women (Short Course) - current positions are (1) Lois West, (2) Jan Fletcher and (3) Toni Frank. The placings could change but Toni would need to finish 4th or better, Jan 6th or better, and they would have to hope that Lois finishes 12th or lower at Churchlands..
