Welcome to our new NavRun events! NavRuns are designed to provide accessible, enjoyable navigation experiences for newcomers and experienced orienteers alike, where courses encourage navigation skill development. This event will focus on route choices using linear features such as tracks in a semi-bush environment. The courses are set entirely in parklands and feature an extensive track network.
This is an Australian Schools Orienteering Championship selection event - for details see the ASOC trials info document.
Courses: Long (5km), Short (2.9km) and Easy (2.1km).
Registration: Pre-entry (preferred) is available via Eventor. You will also be able to enter on the day at the event from 8.30am to 10am.
Start Times: From 9am to 10:30am.
Courses Close: 11:30pm. You need to return to the assembly area by this time, whether or not you complete the course.
Facilities: Toilets.
Parking: Please use the carpark on Parkway Rd (at the southern end of Colonial Dr) and then overflow along the verge.
Please bring: Bring your SI card and compass or these can be borrowed at the event. Also bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a whistle, a hat and water bottle (plus water and electrolytes for after you finish), and comfortable walking or running shoes.
Note: There will be no water on the courses or at start/finish. There is a drink fountain near the finish.
