The final event of the summer sprint series is at Perry Lakes Reserve. The map will utilise the Perry Lakes housing estate with quiet roads, pathways, numerous garden beds (please respect these as out of bounds) and some bushland areas. Parts of the course will also utilise the Reserve for a sprint finish! Come down and enjoy the last event prior to the long autumn break before the winter season begins. Bring a picnic dinner and relax by the lake after the event with your fellow orienteers.

The area is relatively flat with some small hills and stairs in the east of the estate. If the setter is able and not otherwise tied up with work, there may be artificial barriers (not guaranteed).

For those new to sprint events: the main difference with MetrO events is that competitors must visit controls in the order of their number on the map, and that competitors start one by one (or in their group) at one minute intervals. The events are held on maps with a larger scale, i.e. in a smaller area, typically at a school or university campus or parkland area. Courses are shorter and quick thinking will be required to get around as fast as possible. You can do multiple courses for the price of one if you have the time.

Pre-entry (preferred) is available via Eventor. You will also be able to enter on the day at the event.

Assembly area: at the southern part of Perry Lakes with best access from Underwood Ave or Perry Lakes Dr.
Courses: Three courses will be available - Easy (1.5km), Short (2.0km), and Long (3.0km).
Start times: Individual starts between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.
Courses close: 6.00pm. Please return to the assembly area by this time, even if you have not finished your course.
Facilities: Toilets are located 200m from the assembly area.
Bring: Your SI card and compass or these can be borrowed at the event. Also bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and water bottle (plus water and electrolytes for after you finish), a whistle, and comfortable walking or running shoes.

More information, including directions to the event, is in Eventor. Also read the Information flyer.
