This is the second of the three Summer Sprints for the 2025-26 Summer Series. The ECU Joondalup campus is a complex area of buildings, sports grounds and lakes which will mean a high level on concentration is needed, especially as there are several areas that are mapped with two levels.
For those new to sprint events: the main difference with MetrO events is that competitors must visit controls in the order of their number on the map, and that competitors start one by one (or in their group) at one minute intervals. The events are held on maps with a larger scale, i.e. in a smaller area, typically at a school or university campus or parkland area. Courses are shorter and quick thinking will be required to get around as fast as possible. You can do multiple courses for the price of one if you have the time.
Pre-entry (preferred) is available via Eventor. You will also be able to enter on the day at the event.
Parking: Enter the campus from Lakeside Drive and park at Car Park 14 or near the ECU Sports and Fitness Centre.
Courses: Three courses will be available - Easy (~1.1km), Short (~2.3km), and Long (~3.4km).
Start times: Individual starts between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.
Courses close: 6.15pm. Please return to the assembly area by this time, even if you have not finished your course.
Bring: Your SI card and compass or these can be borrowed at the event. Also bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and water bottle (plus water and electrolytes for after you finish), a whistle, and comfortable walking or running shoes.
More information, including directions to the event, is in Eventor. Also read the Information flyer.
If you are new to orienteering and/or sprint events, check out some general info about Sprint events on our website.
