The sixth event of the 2024-25 MetrO Series and the first event of the new year started from the Swanbourne Cricket Club with competitors exploring the parks, streets and beachfront of coastal Swanbourne and Cottesloe. A wide variety of options from the start meant competitors left in all directions, and led to a large range of route choices with a large range of distances.

Of 30 total controls, competitors collected 7 on the Short course, 13 on the Medium, and 20 on the Long.

Winners on the Long course were Mark Lommers and Rachel West, with Rachel's very efficient route dipping under 7km. A strong route from Nigel Wade saw him take the win on the Medium course, and Amy Dufty continued her dominance in the new year by taking her 5th win of the Series. A pair of newcomers, Daniel Messina and Lily Doyle, impressively won overall on the Short course, while the fastest from the individual categories were Quinn and Neve Lommers.

A very big thank you to setter Liam Dufty. Thank you also to Craig Dufty, Rachel West, Ekaterina Klyukina and Riley McFarlane for their help in organising and running the event, and to all our control collectors - Mark, Katherine and Quinn Lommers, Tony Simpkins, Jason Simpson, Helen Bailey, Anna Napier, Jan and Ian Fletcher, and the Burns family.

Results can be found on Eventor. Detailed splits are on the MetrO Series Splits page. Some orienteers' route choices are available on Livelox. Check your standing in the overall Metro Series 2024-25.
