MetrO Event 4, held at Trigg, proved a thrilling challenge for participants, with a brisk sea breeze, rugged hills, and bushland testing the skills of all competitors. The course showcased the area's natural coastal beauty and offered varied terrain that kept runners engaged and on their toes.
In the long course, Sten Claessens and Rachel West emerged victorious, demonstrating exceptional endurance and navigation skills. The medium course saw Ruben Claessens and Amy Dufty take top honors with impressive performances. Visiting Swiss orienteer Mathias Peter showcased his expertise by clinching the short course win alongside Sarah Richards, who also had a standout run.
A special thank you goes to the course setters, Quinn and Mark Lommers, for designing such an engaging and challenging event. Gratitude also goes to the WOW control collectors – Graeme, Tom & Fraser, Dave and Christine (a warm welcome to our new member!), Helen, Digby, and Brian, along with Quinn from LOST – for their vital contributions to the smooth running of the event.
With a wonderful mix of competition and camaraderie, this event was another great success in the 2024/25 MetrO series. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next event!
