Gunapin Ridge, west of Beverley

SOL (State O League) events allow you to track how your performance is going by running the nominated course for your age group. You can compare your times with others in your age group, and also earn OY (Orienteer of the Year) points that are used to determine who wins the Orienteer of the Year awards. Gunapin is the first such event for 2021.

Gunapin terrain is mostly undulating bush land with many detailed rock areas and many clearings and rock surfaces.  There is the occasional area which appears to be a clearing on the ground but is mapped white.

Please note: The land owner has advised that several paddocks have been cropped with canola and under no circumstances are any orienteers or associates to enter the cropped paddocks. The landowner has also advised that sheep will be lambing in the paddock in which we are assembling. No person should approach the sheep or their lambs but you should advise the event organisers if you have any concerns regarding the animals. For these reasons there will be NO camping this year at Gunapin.

Please also note: Please comply with any COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time of the event and continue to practise social distancing and good hand hygiene.

Pre-entry via Eventor is available and preferred: entries close at midday (12:00 WST) on Saturday 17th July. However, EOD (enter on the day) will be accepted: please bring cash for payment as credit card payment will not be available.

Courses: H1 - H4, M, E and VE. More details, including which course you should enter to receive OY points, are in the Information flyer.
On the day registration: 9:00 - 11:00 am.
Start times: 9:30 am - 11:30 am (you can start whenever you want during that period, subject to numbers of others turning up at the same time).
Courses close: 1 pm sharp. Please return to the assembly area by 1 pm even if you have not completed your course.
