NavDash events have courses to suit all abilities and it's a great way to continue orienteering after the Metro Series. There is more information on NavDash events on the OWA website. Please pre-enter via Eventor if at all possible.
A multi-level Sprint spectacular!
We’ve visited John Curtin College of the Arts a few times since Noel mapped it in 2017. For a campus that is composed almost entirely of orthogonally positioned rectangular buildings, it has proved to be surprisingly challenging, both mentally and physically. Those who'd like a sprint challenge better get a good night’s sleep on Saturday 17th April as the event on Sunday 18th April will be the most physically and mentally challenging of them all! It will still be great fun for those who prefer to navigate at a slower pace.
The map has been revised and is now multi-level. As well as the main running level, there are two ancillary maps, one for the upper story of the main block, and the other for the lower level of the west block. So as well as having to choose between going left or right, you may also have to add going up or down to your route choice options. This will not be a ‘Short O’ course, but a true Sprint course, with multiple route choices throughout. Information about NavDash (sprint) orienteering can be found here.
Courses:
Hard Long: running distance around 3 - 4 km
Hard Short: running distance around 2 - 2.5 km
Easy: expect to run/walk around 1.5 - 2 km
