Well we're all done for the year now.
As some may have guessed from the name, Noel had us running around in circles in Swanbourne for the Annual Christmas Novelty Event.
Whilst experienced orienteers claimed it was one of the easier events set, newer orienteers were scratching their heads. Only Helen B was organised enough to have scissors and sellotape in the car to reconfigure the map (though maybe that made it too easy). The easiest option was definitely grabbing a coffee and sitting in the shade watching everyone running around in ever increasing/decreasing circles and showing confused locals what everyone was doing - an important part of communications and promotions for orienteering.
Check out Facebook to see the challenge we faced.
MetrO season will recommence in the New Year, with an event at Shelley on Saturday 9 January 2021.
Details are in Eventor and entries for that event are open.
Please don't forget to renew your membership if you want membership rates in January.
Anyone wanting to do any orienteering before then, there are plentry of Anytime Orienteering Courses to try. Orienteering maps for MapRunF (or MapRunG if you have a Garmin watch) are also in the process of being transferred to the website from Eventor so watch out for them coming here soon.
In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and keep safe if you are heading out of WA.
Best wishes from
