WA Orienteering School Team

OWA selects a School Team of up to 16 members to represent WA at the Australian Schools Orienteering Carnival, which is held in different states each September / October.

WA Orienteering School Team Qualifying events are listed in the Qualifying Events Document along with the courses each age group needs to complete.You should also make sure you are familiar with the team selection policy. Performance at 8 events will be considered. Of these attendance is required at any 2 Nav Dash (Sprint) events, any 2 Bush events as well as the Secondary School Championships.

Junior Training Camps

The major training camp of the year takes place in the July school holidays for our junior members, and is run by our accredited coaches. We provide for a wide range of orienteering abilities.

The camp is suitable for young people who enjoy orienteering, want to learn more about it and have a fun time with other young people. The camp is open to orienteers aged from 10 to 17 years who have participated in at least one bush event or NavDash event in addition to any school events.To attend the camp you need to be a member of Orienteering WA.

The 2018 Junior camp will be held in at Camp Kerem, Bullsbrook from Saturday 30th June till Monday 2nd July.

Full 2018 Camp Information and Registration Details will be available at the start of May.

Weekly training sessions that will help prepare you both physically and technically for orienteering competition. Contact the OAWA Coaching Convenor for further information and subscribe to the Enews which provides details of weekly training sessions through out the year.
