Orienteering Western Australia is managed by the OWA Council.

Council is composed of The Executive, Convenors with specific portfolios (e.g. coaching, mapping, technical, promotions) and General Council Members. The Executive members are the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, plus one additional selected member, and they are authorised to act collectively to make urgent decisions between council meetings if required.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM), held each autumn near the beginning of the bush season, is an opportunity for all members to review OWA's activities and to elect office bearers for the coming year.
