OAWA is working with the Teva Adventure Series in 2009 and whether you are a Mountain Bike Orienteer or a foot orienteer with a desire to try the MTBO then Teva are giving a free entry to be drawn as a spot prize at Turners Hill.

The Teva is a mixture of Mountain Bike and simplified foot orienteering plus some novelty events between stages.

The Teva Adventure Series rocks into 5 Capital Cities across the country in 2009

Through breathtaking mountains and picturesque hiking tracks, the Teva Adventure Series is renowned for drawing out the adventure athlete from within.  In its sixth year, this nation-wide series brings together beginners to experienced competitors’ mounting biking, navigational skills and trekking experience to culminate in a challenging stamina driven series of physical tests.

With races in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, adventure seekers are drawn together by their desire for adrenaline, fun and their thirst for a challenge. Each course is as dynamic and vibrant as its scenic location. Armed with only a map, a mountain bike, and their instincts, teams take on all the challenges the environment and the course can throw at them.

The day includes a combination of 15-25km of mountain biking, 5-10km of trekking, basic navigation skills and fun team adventure challenges that will test the competitor’s ability to work together as a team, to strategise, and to have a whole load of fun along the way. Apart from just being physically challenging, the Teva Adventure Series also requires problem solving skills and challenges the mind.

2009 holds all new event twists, so assume nothing and expect anything!
